Metaphor is the comparison between likeness of things that are not seemingly literally related. When you stop to think about it, metaphor shouldn't actually work. Metaphor exists because the universe is infinitely connected through patterns, even when it isn't obvious at first.
Information received in meditation often comes in the form of metaphor and symbols. The name Inspired by the Wild is a reference to the way my intuition works by way of metaphors in nature. When I'm trying to solve a problem and get confused, I look for a pattern to lead me back to what is familiar and known. Nature makes sense to me, so if I can ground information in a nature-based context I can understand it.
The concept of Quantum Healing works the same way. In Dr. Deepak Chopra's book "Quantum Healing" he cites a case study of a man diagnosed with throat cancer. Dr. Chopra instructs the patient to visualize the tumor in his throat as a boulder, and asks him to think of a metaphor to encourage healing action in the body. The patient recalls that he has always loved snow, so in his meditation the patient begins visualizing snowflakes falling on the boulder and covering it gently. The intelligence in this action is using intention to help guide the flow of healing white blood cells to where they are needed in the body. If you believe in seeking guidance 'from above' let's consider the possibility that it works the same way within our bodies. This practice resulted in the complete regression of the tumor, and the patient revealed during follow-up that he had been using the same techniques to manage his arthritis and finding drastic improvements there as well! To me, this is the ultimate exciting combination of meditation, metaphor and art therapy for the trifecta of healing.
Recently I was struck with the epiphany that all the jewelry I had made and sold over the years, all the conversations that surrounded the pieces all came down to metaphor and it shifted my entire perspective on what I am here to do.
The unique thing about jewelry as an Oracle is not only the symbols that come through in the design, but the information that comes through people's impressions of you wearing those symbols. In my experience, the most profound insights can come through people's compliments when you're wearing the jewelry out into the world. When we wear symbols intentionally out into the world, they become their own form of communication, I think of it as the "pollination of information."
