The stories that we grew up on were recorded by the youngest, freshest parts of our brain during a time when our perspective was still shaped by our uncalcified pineal glands.


Looking back on the nursery rhymes, children's books, and bedtime stories that defined my early understanding of life, I can't help but wonder: did the stories of our youth prepare us for the world we would one day inherit?
